Church Lunches
The lunch teams are taking a well-earned break during August, and lunches will resume on 5 September. We would like to recruit more teams to join the rota to provide lunches. Please consider whether you could help in this way. The lunch convenor, Sheilah Fletcher, will be pleased to hear from you.
Macpherson Reels for Borderline 2010
Summer Borderline Reels will take place on Thursday 22 July from 7.30pm to 10pm at The Mansel Centre, Trinity Church, Mansel Road, Wimbledon SW19 4AA. For further information, please see the notice board in the hall.
Borderline
This year is the 20th anniversary of Borderline, the charity which supports homeless and insecurely housed first and second generation Scots in London. The congregation has been generous in its support of Borderline over the years. Most recently Chris Majcher raised over £600 by running in the Edinburgh Marathon, and we donated half the proceeds of the stall in Covent Garden (£165.05) to the charity.
On 3 October, Willie Docherty, Chief Executive, will be running in the Loch Ness Marathon in support of Borderline. There is a sponsorship form on the notice board in the hall so please sign up to support him in this effort. You can also sign up for the 300 Club by setting up a regular standing order. For more information call Ross on 020 7240 3718
Charity Registration and New Committee Arrangements
Good progress is being made in the process of registering the church as a charity, and the Session has agreed the new committee structure and appointed conveners as follows:
Stewardship and Finance: Douglas McNeill
Outreach: William Duguid
Education and Development: Kirsten Howie
Fabric: Sheila Haddon
Pastoral: Rev Philip Majcher
Secretariat: Alan Imrie.
The Conveners are now putting together their committees and agreeing terms of reference and reporting arrangements.
In addition, the Session has appointed Peter Esslemont as Deputy Session Clerk. We are very pleased to welcome Peter to this new rôle and wish him every success.
