The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Reverend John Christie, will be the preacher at the evening service on Sunday 28 November. The service will be followed by a reception in the hall. We look for a good turnout of members to meet the Moderator and Mrs Christie.

Christmas Market
The Christmas Market will be held on Saturday 20 November from 11.30am to 3.30pm. Donations of new unwanted gifts, home baking for the produce stall and afternoon teas will be most welcome. Be sure to come along and enjoy the fun and do your Christmas shopping!
Caledoniart Christmas Exhibition
This exhibition of work by Scottish artists takes place at the Royal Opera Arcade Gallery, Pall Mall, SW1, from Monday 29 November to Saturday 2 December. Opening times:10am to 7pm (4pm on Saturday). A selection of Scottish gifts and cards will also be on sale.
Bible study sessions
The first of a series of six Bible study sessions led by the Minister will be held in the vestry at 6.45pm on Tuesday 2 November. The theme is “The Birth of Christ – Immanuel God with us”. All are welcome.
The Reformation
A service for Reformation Sunday will be held at The Danish Church at 2pm on Sunday 31 October. For further details please check the church noticeboard or go to The Danish Church website at http://www.danskekirke.org
Enquirer’s class
The Minister is planning to hold a one-day session on a Saturday in the church hall for anyone who is interested in joining the church. If you would like to join in this session, please speak to the Minister or give your details to the church secretary. Possible dates are 13 or 27 November.
Crown Court Recipe Book Launch
The new Crown Court recipe book, A Taste of Crown Court, was launched on Sunday 10 October, appropriately at the Harvest Thanksgiving Morning Service.
The new book is packed full of mouthwatering recipes contributed by members of the congregation, and at just £4.00 per copy (or £7.00 for two) looks set to be THE stocking filler for Christmas 2010. Make sure you pick up your copy in the Church Hall after the service and prepare your taste buds for a treat!
Sale proceeds from the book will be split equally between Borderline, the agency for homeless Scots in London, and our pupil sponsorship programme at Aburi Girls’ School in Ghana.
Harvest Thanksgiving – Sunday 10 October
The Harvest appeal this year is for the Blythswood Christmas Box appeal for which the Guild are seeking to fill 120 boxes. Fliers are available with details of the items which are needed. You are also most welcome to bring food items to decorate the church.
