The Burns Club of London
Jean Armour Evening
Monday 17th February 2014
at The Caledonian Club,
9 Halkin Street, London, SW1X 7DR
The guest speaker for this event will be Jane Brown, President of The Robert Burns World
Federation and manager of The Globe Inn, which Burns frequented while living in Dumfries. Jane has a delightful personality and is a highly regarded speaker on Robert Burns. This has led to her being honoured by Burns clubs throughout the world. We look forward to her presentation on Jean Armour, Robert Burns’s loyal and remarkable wife.
The evening will also feature songs and poems and background information about some of the lasses who provided inspiration for Robert’s remarkable talent. One of the supporting speakers is a direct descendant of Robert Burns and, through him, also has a strong connection with The Globe Inn.
A cash bar will be available from 6:30 pm and the entertainment will start at 7:15. After the presentation we shall enjoy a supper of The Caledonian Club’s superb mince & tatties and the cash bar will open again. Admission is £24 per person, inclusive of supper. Please book as soon as possible using the form on the website at http://bcol.org.uk/events
