Annual Business Meeting of the congregation – Sunday 29 March 2020

The agenda and reports for this meeting will be sent to
members of the congregation a week prior to the meeting.
Committee Conveners and Secretaries of church
organisations are therefore asked to submit their reports by
Sunday 15 March at the latest.

This is an important meeting in the life of the church, as it
provides information on how the church is being run and
provides an opportunity for members to ask questions of
office bearers on matters of interest to them. So please do
try to get to the meeting if you possibly can.

Lynda Soltysiak

A service to celebrate the life of Lynda Soltysiak who died on 30 December 2019 will be held in the church at 2:30 pm on Thursday 30 January. All who knew Lynda are warmly invited to attend.

If you would like to donate to a charity in memory of Lynda, there are links to donate to Breast Cancer UK and to St Mungo’s via her obituary.

former UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner on the
subject of “MODERN SLAVERY and HUMAN TRAFFICKING”.

It is hoped to have displays and information from various
organisations working in this field which will give everyone
the opportunity to find out further about the work that is
being done. Before this from 6.30 to 7 pm, reports on CTiW
activities during 2019 will be presented.

Collection for Bruce House

Once again, we will be collecting Christmas goody bags for the residents of Bruce House. Donations for this will be gratefully received, either in the form of money or toiletries (for men and women). Sweets would also be
acceptable, but please check the sell by date. Please bring in your donations by Sunday 15 December. If you need any more information, please speak to Margaret Ross.

Moderator’s Visit

This year the annual visit to Westminster of the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Reverend Colin Sinclair, takes place from 24 November to 1 December, and once again our Minister will act as Chaplain during the visit. The Moderator will preach at the morning service here in Crown Court on Sunday 1 December, which is also
quarterly communion and the first Sunday in Advent, so we look forward to seeing a good turnout of members for this service.

The morning service will be followed by lunch in the hall when members will have the opportunity to meet the Moderator and his wife, Mrs Ruth Sinclair.
