Burns Supper

The Annual Burns Supper organised by the Rambling and Social Club will take place in the church hall on Saturday 28 January 2012 at 6.30 for 7.00pm.

There will be all the usual speeches; haggis, neeps and tatties provided by our wonderful caterer; and, of course, the chance to take to the floor and show off your Scottish country dancing skills.

Tickets (price to be confirmed) will be available in the New Year, but you can place your order early to avoid disappointment.

Caledonian Carols for Borderline

The annual Borderline carol service will be held on Thursday 8 December at 6.30 for 7 pm at St Columba’s Church, Pont Street.  Tickets cost £15 for adults, children under 16 free.  Further details are on the Borderline website at http://www.borderline-uk.org/who-we-are/news/104-a-caledonian-christmas

Moderator’s Visit

This year the annual visit to Westminster of the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Reverend David Arnott, takes place from 28 November to 6 December.  The Moderator will be preaching at the morning service here in Crown Court on Sunday 4 December, and it is hoped that there will be a good turn-out of members to meet the Moderator and Mrs Arnott, and, of course, to participate in our quarterly communion service.

Advent Bible Study

The Minister is running a series of Bible study sessions for Advent on Tuesday evenings in the vestry at 6.45 pm.  The sessions will start on 1 November and run for four Tuesdays until 22 November.  Do come along and join Philip for these sessions.  It doesn’t matter if you can’t commit to attending them all: just come when you can.  You will be most welcome.
