Friends Sunday

We look forward to welcoming the Friends of Crown Court for their annual service and lunch on Sunday 20 May.  We also look forward to welcoming back to the pulpit on that day our former Minister, Rev Stanley Hood.  The speaker at the Friends’ Lunch will be Andy Tait.

There will be no congregational lunches on that day, but if you would like to join the Friends for lunch (price £5), please contact Margaret Rees by 13 May.

Collecting for Christian Aid

We are collecting for Christian Aid at mainline stations and in the City on Thursday and Friday 17 and 18 May.  If you are able to help, please add your name to the list on the hall notice board, or speak to Peter Esslemont at church.

May Ceilidh Dance

The Highlands and Islands Society of London is holding a ceilidh dance on Saturday 19 May at The London Welsh Centre in Gray’s Inn Road.  Further details are on the Society’s website at http://www.thehisl.co.uk/

Why Believe?

Two one-day events, organised by the Church of Scotland Mission and Discipleship Council in association with the SOLAS Centre, Dundee, and Action of Churches Together in Scotland, are being held this year.  The first is at Palmerston Place Church in Edinburgh on 12 May, and the second at Queen’s Park Church in Glasgow on 27 October.  Please see the notice board in the hall for further details.

Fourth Hugh Price Hughes Lecture

The fourth in this year’s series of lectures, with the theme “Belonging Together?”, will be held on Tuesday 8 May at 7.30 pm at Hinde Street Methodist Church.  The speaker is Clive Marsh, and the subject is “Belonging together … with those of no faith?”.

The Chronicle

The April issue of The Chronicle is ready for collection on the piano in the hall.

Copies are free, but if anyone would like to contribute to the cost of production (£1 per copy), the Magazine Treasurer, Elizabeth Somerville, would be happy to receive donations.  She can be contacted through the church office.

Free will offering envelopes

The envelopes for weekly givings from April 2012 are now available on the table in the hall.  Would those who use this method of giving please collect their envelopes on Sunday 8 April.  If anyone else is interested in having the weekly envelopes, please speak to the Treasurer.
