Unfortunately, due to the illness of the performer, we have had to cancel this concert.

 

There will be no church lunches during August to give our lunch teams a well-deserved break.  Lunches will resume on 4 September, and the rota for the next few months is on the notice board behind the serving counter.

We need more volunteers to provide lunches from time to time, so please either sign up on the rota or speak to the lunch convener, Marlene Tyler, who will be happy to give you further details.

As you may recall, after several years of featuring in the official Open House brochure, last year we were not included because Open House were restricting inclusion to Grade I listed churches, and we are Grade II. However, as an experiment, we opened the church to visitors over the weekend anyway, using our own website and other media to advertise the fact that we were open. On the Saturday we attracted very few visitors, but did considerably better on the Sunday.

This year we haven’t applied to be in the official brochure, as it was made clear last year that this was a permanent change of criteria. Based on last year’s experience, this year we will open on Sunday 18 September only, from 2 till 5 pm. As usual we will need volunteers to act as stewards and to provide teas and coffees in the hall. So if you would like to help, please put the date in your diary and await further information in the church notices and on the web site.
