Collection for Bruce House

Once again, we will be collecting Christmas goody bags for the residents of Bruce House. Donations for this will be gratefully received, either in the form of money or toiletries (for men and women). Sweets would also be
acceptable, but please check the sell by date. Please bring in your donations by Sunday 15 December. If you need any more information, please speak to Margaret Ross.

Moderator’s Visit

This year the annual visit to Westminster of the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Reverend Colin Sinclair, takes place from 24 November to 1 December, and once again our Minister will act as Chaplain during the visit. The Moderator will preach at the morning service here in Crown Court on Sunday 1 December, which is also
quarterly communion and the first Sunday in Advent, so we look forward to seeing a good turnout of members for this service.

The morning service will be followed by lunch in the hall when members will have the opportunity to meet the Moderator and his wife, Mrs Ruth Sinclair.

Christmas Market Saturday 16 November

This year’s Christmas Market will be held in the hall on Saturday 16 November from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm. Our famous home baking, jams, preserves and tablet will be on sale as usual, together with gifts, crafts, and plants. There will be games and competitions with prizes and the ever-popular lucky numbers stall. Soup, tea, coffee and cakes will be available at any time all day, so you won’t go hungry!

Please put the date in your diary and come along to support this important event in the church calendar. We will be looking for people to help man the stalls, serve refreshments, contribute baking for the cake stall and the teas, hand out fliers in Covent Garden Piazza and other necessary tasks. And if you have any other ideas for the Market please speak to the Church Secretary.

If you have any new unwanted gifts that would be suitable for any of the stalls, these will be very welcome. Any offers of home baking for the afternoon teas or the cake stall will also be greatly appreciated (please see
Margaret Ross).

All the above items can be delivered to the Church from 10.30 am on Friday 15 November.

Please do come and support this important fundraising event. All proceeds will go to Church funds. It’s also an opportunity to meet up with old friends and make some new friends.
